I’ve finally started a project that I’ve been really excited about: a “mood board” for my unpurchased, as-yet have-not-found-and-cannot afford house. I got the idea, I suppose, from a combination of places: dooce, Young House Love, and even those DIY boards recommended for craft rooms to keep all your inspirational snippets in one place.

I add to it whenever I get bored at work (ie all the time) and am not scouring the internet for an engagement ring (guilty pleasure, what can I say?).  So far I have a pretty good idea of what I want J’s office / our study to look like, but I haven’t been able to “find” in reality all of the items.  But here’s a definite:

And I’ve done some searching for a really nice chair that I’d like to sit in the center-ish part of the room, atop an area rug, with a nice side table and ottoman.  That’s where I envision myself curled up with a book and the dogs while J plays his game on the computer.

However, I found this chair, below, in person when I was out with my friends shopping with some Christmas gift certificates.  Isn’t it perfect for my craft room? … which I envision being feminine and light.  I even want to elicit my friend D to paint a cherry blossom mural on the wall that backs up to my craft space – like my craft desk and sewing desk, etc.  Wouldn’t that be so inspirational?  I think this chair would fit in perfectly:
